The OSHA 30-Hour Construction card is a completion card from OSHA's Outreach Training Program, a voluntary safety-awareness program. It is issued only by OSHA-authorized Outreach trainers and OSHA-authorized online providers, after the student finishes the 30-hour class. Many employers, unions and some states and cities ask for it on construction sites.
It shows that the holder completed 30 hours of construction safety and health training with an authorized trainer. OSHA states that the program is not a certification and does not license or qualify anyone to do a job.
Take the 30-hour Construction class from an OSHA-authorized Outreach trainer or an OSHA-authorized online provider. OSHA caps the class at 7.5 hours a day, so it takes at least four days. VoTechWorks teaches the same topics free in its OSHA 30 Construction Prep course (Electrical program), so you arrive ready; VoTechWorks does not issue the card. Check any trainer on osha.gov before you pay.
Expected on many commercial and public job sites, often for foremen and supervisors; a common next step after OSHA 10.
The card does not expire under federal rules, but some employers, unions and local laws require refresher training. Replacement cards come only from the original trainer, for classes in the last five years.

Does the school offer financial aid?
No. We don’t offer financial aid because we’re free. No, really: completely free.
Do you offer industry certification?
No. We are not certified yet, so we can’t offer that to students. What we do offer is knowledge and understanding of a trade.
Enroll first in the trade you’re interested in. You get your key, your program opens, and you begin studying.
